ESPB has taken the regional anesthesia by storm. This masterclass will focus on the complex anatomy of the erector spinae fascial plane. The mechanism of action is quiet intriguing, discussion here will throw a light on the how’s and why’s of LA action. The clinical implications have expanded over time since its introduction. We take a dig into all this with cadaveric and contrast studies which will reveal the current scenario. A futuristic study involving its role in ERAS is being studied.
The QLB popularized the concept of replacing the neuraxial analgesic and the TAP to some extent. Clinical questions are raised and regarding the needle tip placement, nerves blocked, volume of LA and the clinical scenarios where it is efficient. In this masterclass a detailed anatomical orientation and nerves related to QLM, various techniques and its pros and cons will be detailed. Accompanied by contrast studies and recent review of literature a detailed concept of QLB will be laid open to the delegates.
