Photography can tell us a great deal about a patient’s condition at an instant in time, and serial photographs over a period of time can tell us much more of the story, about the progress of diseases or response to treatment.
So why is it that the clinical photographs we see are so often a disappointment? Too dark, too light, dark shadows, unsharpness, colour variations, important details obscures, untidy indeterminate scale, serial photographs that do not match - these pictures are worth less than “a thousand words”.
Undoubtedly the best medical photographs are taken by fully trained clinical photographers trained professionally with full range of lighting & equipment available. But unfortunately such facilities are not available to every clinician, and certainly not at all hours of the day and night or in every location, including the operating room that they see or work with their patients.
This workshop will equip the clinicians to understand the basics of photography and apply it to clinical medicine in a manner which will reap them maximum benefits whether it is for the purpose of study, documentation, medicolegal records, presentation or publication.
This will be a hands on workshop where the participants can click images using the principles highlighted and they will also learn the basics of processing and saving the images as per requirement.
